There are a number of posts referring to smell, I took them with a grain of salt as one should with posts that amount to wining(it's a $35 box guys, don't expect the world). There is a MINOR smell to the box possibly from the bottom panel that seems to be some sort of vinyl material. However, it's nothing to worry about the smell fades after a few days of regular use. The spaces provided are snug, while most of my watches peek at 42mm anything beyond that would probably cause them to press against one another like other reviews state, furthermore the cushions provided are actually pretty small. I have a smaller wrist so this wasn't a problem for me however it is something to keep in mind if you don't want the watches to move about inside. Finally, something that has gone understated is the quality of the box, the leather does seem to be genuine but it is an EXTREMELY thin layer that at first impression would have me think it could be scratched/damaged fairly easily. I intend to have this sit in a shelf on my closet so I don't expect much wear and tear but keep in mind if you're looking for a higher end item to store your time pieces. Overall for the aesthetic appeal and functionality that for me is quite high I'd say it's a great value for the price. The item is made in china so you get what you pay for and is in no way a luxury piece but for a beginner to the world of watches like myself it should do the job quite well while I grow both my knowledge and collection.
