I bought this watch on a whim. While wading through the really bad English descriptive marketing material posted about the watch, I ran into this description about the watch's movement - "High-quality movement, non-industry low-end movement" posted in the picture section about the watch. At the time, the watch was selling for $60+ and I just had to smile. The pictures of the watch were gorgeous and I decided to purchase it anyway. I bought the one with the green face. I just got it and looked at the watch under magnification. It is gorgeous. I haven't opened the back yet but I will because I just have to check out the movement and see if it meets the standards posted about it. ;)There weren't many reviews posted about it yet but there was some obvious misinformation regarding the watch and other items that shipped with the watch. I'll address those now. One poster complained that there was a "sharp needle-like" item that came with the watch and suggested that buyers should throw it away. The item he described is actually a pin remover for removing links from the watch. I already have a nice pin remover I my kit but decided to use the one sent with the watch to adjust the watch's fit for my wrist and it is an OK pin remover. I'll put it in my kit as a backup. If you don't have a pin remover you might want to keep this one.The other complaint that I read suggested that the movement wouldn't wind enough to keep the watch going for more than a few hours. This watch is powered by a self-winding mechanism, an automatic watch. All automatics can be wound manually using the post used to set the time on the side of the watch. You pull the post out one click to set the date. You leave it in to wind the watch. On this particular watch it is the "button" in the middle. Simply leave it in and turn it clockwise. I usually wind automatics 30-40 times but as I'm still unsure of this watch, I wound it 20 times before I went to bed last night and it is still running now, the following afternoon. It has not gained or lost time in almost 24 hours.I'll come back after a few weeks and report how it does over a longer term and I've had a chance to open it up and examine the movement. So far though, I have to say I am pleasantly surprised at the visual quality and the care taken to preserve it during transport. The bracelet is stainless steel and feels substantial. It has an unusual double clasp that works flawlessly.Another observation, this watch is manufactured and assembled in China. Bear in mind that this is not necessarily a bad thing. Chinese watch making has gotten markedly better over the last few years and some of their automatic movements are quite good. I'll put this one under the magnifying glass soon but for the time being it looks and feels like a bargain for a $100ish watch. One last observation, the visual appeal of this watch is simply stunning. I like it a lot.The watch looks great and wasn't a bad price but being that I have multiple watches that I like to alternate I find myself having to wind this one all the time. This watch is supposed to keep its time with just the motion of being on your body but if you take it off for a day you will have to reset the time next time you put it on. I don't think I will buy a battery less watch again. Because of the inconvenience of having to wind it all the time I really don't wear it.The watch is esthetically pleasing, the color of the dial is well represented on Amazon. However, the numbers on the dial are smaller than they appear on the screen.Firstly, XIN LINGYU is an EXCELLENT vendor to do business with; a real credit to Amazon! Onward to this watch... keep in mind, this is a sub-150 dollar, strictly decorative timepiece... you cannot go cliff diving with it, however... for office, nightclub, restaurant and other very casual activities, it’s crowd appeal is equal to that of a Bulova Kirkwood, not as sturdy but, much-much more scratch resistant (due to the extensive use of tungsten). Quality-wise, the overall feeling is about the same as a Vostok or an Alpha watch, both of which have huge, very loyal followings. These are fun dress watches, designed to catch the eye and because a Miyota (Citizen) workhorse movement is used, should prove to be reliable (as long as you don’t go cliff diving with it). Think of it as a G rated adult toy and you will be quite pleased. Just remember to read the included instructions and only change the date/day with the hands at 6:00, to avoid damaging the somewhat dated mechanism. Do a search on “how to set day date on automatic watch”. Best uses: wear to impress younger ladies, wedding party gifts for younger groomsmen / fun gift in general (make sure you tell them how to set it), office wear for newbies who want the uppers to start conversations with them and if you just want something very unusual to add to your collection/rotation, without spending a lot of money. I love mine and I’m very happy I grabbed one! Lastly, a VERY SHARP pin pusher tool is included; be very careful with it or better yet, if you have pets or young children in your home, just dispose of it, very safely (I wrapped the included VERY SHARP pin pusher tool in aluminum foil and threw the darn thing the heck out, it’s a disaster waiting to happen). One star off for the included VERY SHARP pin pusher tool! I hope they remove it, please! BTW - I am definitely Not a Safety Sally but, the included VERY SHARP pin pusher tool, is a VERY, VERY BAD IDEA, in an otherwise, most delightful piece of kit.Update below - It's a nice watch. Runs two minutes fast per week. Easy to set, and once you become accustomed to what day and date the hands point in (they're very small and hard to read in anything but bright sunshine) it's a pretty complete timepiece. Easy enough with the supplied tool to knock out a link to make it fit well. Only gripes I have is first, the band-catch/clasp is odd and catches on many things and comes undone, and because the catch is so oddly configured, you're lucky to catch the watch before it completely falls off your arm. I'll probably do some frontier medicine on it to get it to be a little tighter. Second, is that when you pull out the crown to adjust the time, the second-hand does not stop moving. This makes it impossible to synchronize your time to computer or mobile device. Otherwise, I'm fine with the purchase thus far, I keep it wound in a winder, and have had no problem with it in the 3 weeks that I've had it thus far.*Update 2-2-22*Watch band is unworkable. No matter what I do to it, it pops open. The "lugs" that hold the watch band to the watch are standard-sized, so I took an old watch band from an old Dakota Watch, and it fits beautifully.Very high end looking and great quality for a good price! The date is quite tiny and hard to read, but I don't pay attention to that anyway. Very much worth what I paid for it. (I bought it for my husband's birthday).ck dial, the year month day of month day of week are so small they cannot be read without a magnifying glass. totally disappointedGreat budget watch. Watching the movement makes me happy every time. It is a minute fast each month but that's minimal and you need to adjust the date bymonthly anyways, so no biggieReally like this watch good value for money recommend this such a great time pieceDAY MONTHDATE TOO SMALL TOO EASILY READ
